Project Description

It is a provincial key project to create a world-class "green food brand" in Yunnan Province. It is located in Guandu Ancient Town, Guandu District within the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone. This project is planned to build a national 5A scenic spot, a world-class healthy tea experience center and an outstanding "green food" brand in Yunnan. After completion, the China Pu'er Tea Center will become the exhibition window of Yunnan to communicate Pu'er tea culture to the whole country and even the world, and become the Pu'er tea headquarters covering a whole industrial chain. It will also reflect the importance of Kunming in the development strategy of "the Belt and Road Initiative" and will greatly promote the industrial transformation and upgrading in Guandu District.

Content

The core area of the project will be constructed in three phases. In Phase I, this project will focus on exhibition and trading facilities, including Pu'er Tea Museum, Pu'er Tea Convention and Exhibition Center,  seven-star business hotel, Pu'er Tea Trading Center, Yunnan Pu'er Tea Evaluation Center, Pu'er Tea National Standard Reference Database, etc. It is planned to complete the work in this phase in 2022.
In Phase II, this project will focus on Pu'er Tea relating tourism and experience, while in Phase III, this project will focus on warehousing and scientific research.

Land area: 2,533 mu in total including net land area of about 1,305 mu.

Construction period: 5 years

Supporting Conditions

Land supply plan: It is planned to supply 300 mu in 2020, 232 mu in 2021 and 245.25 mu in 2022.

Transportation: The project site enjoys internal excellent traffic conditions, with Metro Lines 1 and 2 in the north and Kunming South Ring Expressway in the south, as well as complete infrastructure.

Market Prediction (Analysis)

1. At present, the sales of Pu'er Tea grow fastest in the market in southeast coastal areas, especially in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Taiwan. About 70%-80% of Pu'er tea in China is consumed in Guangdong, the largest market of Pu'er tea in China. There are several mature tea trading markets such as Fangcun Tea Wholesale Park, Jingui Tea Market, Shancun Tea Wholesale Market, Liwan Tea Market, Nanfang Tea Market, Dabenxiang Tea Center, Sanyi Tea Market in Guangdong.

2. From 2015 to November 2019, the total value of tourism economy in Kunming increased year by year, and the number of tourists continued to rise. It is a mark that tourism in Kunming has entered a step-by-step development stage and become an important industry in economic development in Kunming.
